Josselyn’s name means “happy and cheerful”

9 Jul

We are now just hours away from the 6 week mark.  You know.  That magical number that parents of new babies count down.  I didn’t really notice with the first two.  Bronwyn I just didn’t notice, and Holly I was too busy to notice.  But I have had this date marked on the calendar of my mind since that first morning together.  The morning where she and I were alone for the first time, and she cried for five hours straight, and I had to fend off well-meaning nurses who tried to help by offering such sound and sage advice as: maybe she’s hungry.  You think?!?!  She hasn’t eaten anything… ever.  I even snuck in two bottles of formula.  The crying didn’t stop.  It never stopped.  Not really.  But this morning, all of a sudden, something was different.  There seemed to be a little. less. crying.  So I took a few pictures:

Whee!

Whee!

She couldn't stop staring at her mobile

She couldn't stop staring at her mobile

Ahhh, there's my girl!

Ahhh, there's my girl!

She went down for her nap reasonably well this morning, too.  Perhaps we are turning the corner?

Edited to add: That is a 3-6 mo onesie she is wearing!
