Happy Canada Day!

2 Jul

Since they are quite a few townships within the county, there are a lot of places to watch fireworks on Canada Day.  Everyone knows this, so some towns plan to have their fireworks celebrations on different nights.  This means we were able to take in two nights of fireworks.  The first one was a small town deal with a small town budget.  The volunteer firefighters were in charge, and it is not hyperbole to say I was frightened for my safety!

I have never been to a fireworks show were ash fell on me, or sparks and bits of exploded debris landed next to me.  We could taste the sulpher, and I spent a portion of the show shielding the Holly’s eyes, and planning escape routes should something catch on fire.  Low liklihood though since it was raining.

The next night we went to the big fireworks, and they were great.  I won’t say more about it, only that the girls did really well, and were only mildly fussier than usual after two nights of broken sleep.  Joss slept through both shows, and went on to sleep well both nights too.  Good girl!

Today I found this:
